Recent Palomar Midtown Kimpton Review: "My wife and I chose to stay at Palomar after our wedding that day as a layover before we went on our honeymoon to Jamaica. Overall, the service was exceptional. The management team still seems to be trying to get the hang of things, but were very helpful. We had to wait for around 5 minutes for our room to be prepared after I called 2 hours ahead to let them know we were arriving at 1am. This was a little irritating, but was quickly made up as we found a personal note from the night auditor with a wine reception upon entering the room. The valet parking is $30 a day. It's pretty steep, but is well worth the cost in terms of convenience and safety. The room was spotless, but it was also relatively brand new when we stayed. Lastly, there was really only one hiccup that miffed our stay. A hold of $200 was placed on our bank account for purposes of any incidentals we incurred during our stay. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that we were charged $243 which was immediately taken out of our account. However, we had already paid ahead of time for the room. The manager quickly credited my account for the same amount upon realizing the error and then only removed the $40 I had actually accrued (valet $30/internet $10) Naturally, it took 3 days for the credit to post and we were leaving the country the next day. Nevertheless, it was a great experience. The staff tried their honest best to make us as comfortable as possible and it provides one of the best views of the city without being in the less secure reaches of downtown and keeping one from paying $400/night for a Buckhead suite without sacrificing in quality."
