Recent Georgian Review: "To start off upon entering the hotel, our expections were exceeded by the well maintained and cleanliness of the historic hotel. The staff was very out going, friendly and more than willing to accomodate my party's request to move us to the same floor. They did not have the same accomodations, however they "regretfully" had to UPGRADE our room. Their policy was to make their customers stay as pleasant as possible. And that they did with flying colors. The rooms were emaculant, the beds were the most comfortable that I had slept in in any motel I have ever stayed. All staff was seemed to be at the customers call, whether to give directions, suggest eating locations, or shopping places, or just to open the door and say, "have a pleasant day". I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Atlanta area that wishes to be treated special and I will surely return. Remember do NOT stay here unless you want SPECIAL treatment."

This hotel's name is etched in Atlanta's historic past. Dance legend Arthur Murray once taught classes in the palatial Grand Ballroom. The hotel is in a central location to everywhere you want to be in Atlanta. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The lobby and other common areas are beautifully designed and kept up. The room could use some updating in the bathroom & kitchen but the bed was super comfy. I would definitely stay here again.

this hotel is downtown Atlanta. It's close to all major tourist sites in the city, but it's dangerous to walk on any of the streets in the 20 square blocks from the Hotel even in broad daylight. The Atlanta streets are FILLED with drug dealers, prostitutes, gangs and crazy people. Would not visit Atlanta again!

Much better than expected. We were in the newly renovated section. For a very good rate we got a small living room/dining room with HDTV, full kitchen without plates/pots/utensils, and a large bedroom with king bed and HDTV. We were on the 6th floor with a view of Stone Mountain. Only drawbacks were no window covering to block a strong morning sun, a small bathroom (no countertop space at all), no ice maker in the fridge and no ice maker on any floor (room service only), and poor advice from the desk. The hotel objective obviously is to make $, so they do not necessarily give you the best info on things because they want you to use their restaurant, coffee shop, room service, bar, and liquor supply ($$$$). So info on the nearest liquor store was "a 20 minute walk" instead of just one easy rail stop from the hotel. The area is great-across from the famous Fox theater, just a block from the Marta rail stop, two blocks to the Varsity (largest drive in restaurant in the world) and Georgia Tech, easy rail to the Braves stadium, etc. When you go just do your own research about where basic things (groceries, beer, etc) are located and get a bag of ice to put in your fridge. Take some eye patches if you are sensitive to the morning light. One final recommendation on parking. If you have a car, and don't plan on using it too much, park at the Marta Lindburg Station (3 rail stops from the hotel). You can park there for free by just showing your Marta rail pass and save over $14 a night at or near the hotel.

This hotel had more of an apartment feel to it than a hotel room. The room is slightly out of date but did offer nice amenities - flat screen TV, very comfortable bed, kitchen and loads of room. I stayed in a Superior King. I would definitely stay there again, there are a lot of great restaurants in walking distance. I thought it was a very good value.

This is an excellent mid-town facility. The best way to experience it is to get a multi-room suite with chiuldren or friends and go to a show at the must-see Fox Theater across the street. Excellent hotel restaurant. Other top-flight restaurants are a cab drive away.

This was not our first stay at this hotel, but we were still impressed. Our standard 2-bed room reservation turned into a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite apartment, larger than we have ever gotten there before....frankly, larger than my house! 8th floor location at the end of the hall.....7 pairs of huge windows, that's 14 windows on 3 sides.....all overlooking the downtown Atlanta skyline because there is no building across the street. Admittedly, the kitchens in these suites are a little dated, but who cares. The place was like coming home every night....we hated to leave it. A block from the MARTA station, so airport to town was a snap. Oh, and Mary Mac's Tearoom Restaurant up the street is a must!!!!!

Beautiful historic hotel, across street from Fox Theatre. Had huge 1 bedroom suite. Livingston's Restaurant & Bar are excellent in hotel lobby. We will stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, directly across from the fabulous Fox Theatre. Hotel is easily accesible and is on Peachtree Street, essentially "main street" of Atlanta. The room, a one bedroom suite, was large and comfortable. The decor and furniture was dated but overall the size of the room and comfort of the bed made up for the old decor. My complaint is related to service. We stayed on July 4th and attended an evening show at the Fox which was over at 9:00pm. My wife and I planned on heading up to the rooftop pool to relax and watch fireworks displays across the city from the roof. When we tried to access the elevator, both cars were routinely packed with people, all telling us that the top floor was closed and that no one else was being allowed up. Upon asking, the majority of these people were not guests of the hotel, they were general members of the public. We went to the top floor anyway to see if they would allow paying guests to access the pool area and we could not even make our way through the crowd of people to access the door. We went back to our room and called the front desk to complain and were told "they were sorry but there was nothing they could do" and that "there was a party up there that was open to the public". No where, and I mean no where, inside or outside the hotel was there any information related to that party. Nor was there any information on the hotel's website about a July 4th rooftop party at the hotel. Upon checkout, we again expressed our lack of satisfaction regarding the party issue and the lack of support from the staff to ensure paying guests of the hotel had access to the amenities ahead of random "visitors". Our only response was a half-hearted "I'm sorry" and an excuse "the party was bigger than expected and we will probably not do that again."
