Recent Days Atlanta Downtown Review: "After reading the many negative reviews posted about this hotel on this site and others, I was a little nervous about booking my 3-day stay here. However, once there, I was greeted by a friendly and courteous staff and my room was fantastic. Certainly, the accommodations were not luxurious, but they were perfect for me. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator. It had cable TV. The bed was comfortable, and my floor (#3) was pretty quiet. The hotel is right in the middle of downtown Atlanta, so you can walk to most downtown attractions. To get to Midtown or the airport, simply hop on Marta (train). There are many stops in the area. Atlanta is known for the pan-handlers, but I really didn't come into contact with anyone. With a little exploring you will find a great mall to occupy time, eat lunch, and window shop. Many well known eateries are close by. Of course, you always have to be mindful of your safety in Atlanta. Dead-bolt your door when in your room for the night, and be certain to travel with others or avoid poorly lit roads. Most nights, police officers are on the corners to direct traffic from the near-by attractions. I felt completely safe. Before you complain about your stay and the staff, try smiling at them and be courteous. It's amazing how much garbage hotel desk staff have to put up with."
